The Two Greatest Commandments

The Two Greatest Commandments are mentioned by Jesus in Matthew 22 : 35-40:

Matthew 22: 35-40:

25 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, 36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and prophets. (KJV)

It's important that we show our love towards God with all our of heart, soul, and mind but this is impossible to do for sinful men due to our imperfections. So we need the grace of God and forgiveness in our lives and we need to love Him and we need to love others as ourselves.

EDIT (January 25th, 2020): I repent of not capitalizing Him in the last sentence that I wrote back on November 12th, 2012. I also added soul and mind in order to complete it and I repent of only writing heart.  Also, it is important that I add that we must love God more than we love anyone or anything. If we love something more than God, it is idolatry which is sin:

1 Corinthians 6:9:

"9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be no

t deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God." (KJV)
This is written for God's Glory, not mine! All credit belongs to the Lord Yeshua. Amen.
